This Indenture made this Twelfth day
of Feby AD 1872, between George L. Barnes, Sheriff of Said
County, of the first part, and Mrs Martha P. Perry of the County
of Alachua State of Florida of the Second part, witnesseth,
That whereas, by virtue of a writ of fieri facias issued out of
the Circuit Court for Said County, and to him, the Said
Sheriff directed, he was Commanded, That of the goods and Chattles,
lands and ienements of Mrs Martha P. Perry Executrix he cause
to be made the Sum of One Thousand four hundred and
thirty 40/100 dollars,with interest thereon, together with costs of
Suit which William Edwards lately on the 27th day of November
AD 1869 recovered in our Circuit Court against Martha P. Perry
Extx - and whereas I, George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid
by virtue of Said writ, did on the 1st day of June AD 1871
levy upon and seize the property hereinafter described and
did by virtue of Said writ, and pursuant to the State in Such
case made and provided, duly advertise the said property for
Sale on the 7th day of August AD 1871 and did on that day
Sell the Same at Public auction, according to law, to Mrs Martha P. Perry
for the Sum of Ten dollars being the highest Sum for the Same,
Now Therefore, know ye, that I, the Said George L. Barnes as Sheriff
as aforesaid, by virtue of the Said writs and of the Statutes in Such
Cases made and provided for, and in Consideration of Said Sum
of Ten dollars to me in hand paid by the Said Mrs Martha
P. Perry party of the Second part, have granted, bargained and Sold
and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the Said
Martha P. Perry party of the Second part, his heirs and assigns
forever, all the following property, to wit: Section's 29, 31, 32 and 33
Twenty nine, Thirty one, Thorty two and Thirty three and the North
half (1/2) of Lot five (5) in Township Ten (10) Range Twenty one
(21) South and East, Containing 2800 acres more or less, also
75 Head of Cattle more or less branded [P]
Together with all the rights, titles, interests and equities which
the Said Martha P. Perry Executrix had of, in, or to the Same,
To have to hold as fully as I, the Said George L. Barnes as
Sheriff as aforesaid might, could, or ought to sell and convey the Same
