Sheriffs Deed

County of Alachua } 
                  } This Indenture made this Sixth day of December 
AD 1869 between George L. Barnes Sheriff of Said County, of the 
first Part, and James P. Sanchez of the County of Alachua State 
of Florida of the Second part, witnesseth. That whereas, by virtue 
of a writ of Fieri Facias issued out of the Circuit Court for Said 
County, and to him, the Said Sheriff directed, he was commanded. 
That of the goods and Chattles, lands and tenements of Thomas W.
McCaa he cause to be made the Sum of Ninety five dollars,
with interest thereon, together with costs of Suit which Vaughan &
Pelot lately on the 8th day of October AD 1860 recovered in our Circuit 
Court against Thos W. McCaa and whereas I, George L. Barnes 
as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of Said writ, did on the 20th day 
of October AD 1869 levy upon and Seize the property hereinafter 
described, and did by virtue of Said writs, and pursuant to the 
Statutes in Such case made and provided, duly advertise the Said 
property for Sale on the 6th day of December AD 1869 and did on 
that day Sell the Same at Public auction, according to law, to 
James P. Sanchez, for the Sum of two hundred and fifty one
dollars being the highest Sum bid for the Same. 
Now therefore, know ye, That I, the Said George L. Barnes as Sheriff 
as aforesaid, by virtue of the Said writs, and of the Statutes in Such 
cases made and provided for, and in Consideration of Said Sum 
of Two hundred and fifty one dollars to me in hand paid by the 
Said James P. Sanchez, party of the Second Part, have granted,
bargained, and Sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain 
and Sell unto the Said James P. Sanchez, party of the Second part, 
his heirs and assigns forever, all the following property, to wit: 
A Certain lot of ground with all the tenements and appurtenan=
ces on lot (2) two Block Three (3) Range two (2) Situated in the
Town of Gainesville State and County aforesaid on the South
Side of he Court House Square,
together with all the rights, titles, interests, and equities which the 
Said Thomas W. McCaa had of, in, or to the Same, To have to hold as 
fully as I, the Said George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid might 
Could, or ought to Sell and Convey the Same.
