County of Alachua } 
                     This Indenture made this fourth day 
of December AD 1871, between George L. Barnes Sheriff of said 
County of the first part, and James B. Brown of the County of 
Alachua State of Florida of the second part Witnesseth: 
That whereas by virtue of a writ of Fieri Facias issued 
out of the Circuit Court for said County, and to him the 
said Sheriff directed he was commanded, That 
of the goods and chattles lands and tenements of John
O. Cosby Cornelius Rain Jr and William Strickland he cause 
to be made the sum of Seven hundred and nineteen Dollars
with interest thereon together with costs of suit which 
George W. Means Admr lately on the 22nd day of November
AD 1869 recovered in our Circuit Court against said Cosby
C. Rain Jr and Wm Strickland and whereas I George L. Barnes 
as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of said writ did on 
the first day of November AD 1871 levy upon and seize 
the property hereinafter described, and did by virtue of 
of said writs and pursuant to the statutes in such case
made and provided duly advertise the said property 
for sale on the 4th day of Decr AD 1871 and did on that
