he was commanded that of the goods and chattels,
lands and tenements of Thomas W. McCaa, he caused to be
made the sum of Three thousand and ninety nine and 66/100
dollars with interest therein and costs of suit which James
C. Thrasher lately recovered in the Circuit Court of Alachua
County, Viz, on the 13th day of November AD 1867 against
said Thomas W. McCaa, and whereas the said Sheriff by
virtue of said writ did on the 15th day of May AD 1868, levy
upon and seize the property hereinafter described, and whereas
the said George L. Barnes, as Sheriff as aforesaid did by virtue
            to the Statute in such cases made and provided 
of said writ and pursuant^duly advertise the said property
for sale on Monday the 1st day of February AD 1869, being
the day of the date of these presents and did on this day sell
the same at public auction according to law, to the said
James C. Thrasher of Columbia County for the sum of Twelve hun-
-dred and fifty dollars, being the highest bidder for the same
Now therefore know ye that I the said George L. Barnes as said
Sheriff by virtue of the said writ in such cases made and pro-
-vided in consideration of the sum of Twelve hundred and
fifty dollars to me paid by the party of the second part, have
granted, sold, and by these presents do grant bargain and sell
unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns
forever all the following property to wit, Lot number two, Block
three, Range two, fronting on the Court House Square in the Town
of Gainesville Florida, as also certain lots of Land known as
Sections number Twenty seven, twenty eight and thirty four in
Township Nine, Range Twenty, containing Nineteen hundred and
twenty acres lying in the County of Alachua State of Florida
together with all the rights titles and interest of which the
said Thomas W. McCaa, had in the said property jointly and
severally, And the same to hold as fully as I the said
Sheriff as aforesaid under said writ might could or ought
to sell and convey the same. Given under my hand and
seal this the 1st day of February AD 1869
