County of Alachua } This Indenture made this Second day of
Sept AD 1872, between De W.L. Barton
Sheriff of Said County, of the first part, and the Southern
Manufacturing Company of the County of Davidson State
of Tennessee of The Second part. Witnesseth That whereas, by
virtue of a writ of Fieri Facias issued out of the Circuit
Court for Said County, and to him, the Said Sheriff
directed, he was Commanded, That of the goods and Chattles,
lands and tenements of Charles P. Crawford he cause
to be made the Sum of Five hundred and Sixty Seven dollars
and fifty Seventy cents with interest thereon, together with
costs of Suit which the Said Southern Manufacturing Co
lately on the 17th day of October AD 1871, recovered in our
Said Court against the Said Charles P. Crawford and where=
as I, De W.L. Barton as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of
Said writ, did on the 10th day of July AD 1872 levy upon
and Seize the property hereinafter described and did by
virtue of Said writs, and pursuant to the Statutes in
Such case made and provided, duly advertise the Said
property for Sale on the 2d day of Sept AD 1872 and did
on that day Sell the Same at Public Auction, according
to law, to the Said Southern Manufacturing Company
dollars for the Sum of Twenty five being the highest
Sum for the Same, Now therefore, know ye, that I,
the Said De W.L. Barton as Sheriff as aforesaid, by virtue of
the Said writ and of the Statutes in Such Cases made
and provided for, and in Consideration of Said Sum
of Twenty five dollars to me in hand paid by the
Said Southern Manufacturing Company party of
the Second part, have granted, bargained and Sold, and
by these presents do grant, bargain and Sell unto the
Said Southern Manufacturing Company party of the
Second part, his heirs and assigns forever, all the following
property, to wit: One Sugar Evaporator, one clarifier, one
Cooler and one Sugar Mill, together with all the rights, titles
interest and equities which the Said Charles P. Crawford
had of, in, or to the Same. To have to hold as fully as I, the
Said De W.L. Barton as Sheriff as aforesaid might, could,
or ought to Sell and convey the Same.
