purposes therein expressed and that he and Edmond
Jones signed the same as subscribing witnesses thereto

State of Florida  } This Indenture made this second      
County of Alachua } day of December one thousand eight
hundred and sixty seven between John O. Cosby Sheriff 
of Alachua County and State of Florida of the first part 
and Phillip Dell of the same County and State of the 
second part Whereas by virtue of Sundry writ of 
Fieri Facias issued out of the Circuit Court in and 
for the County of Alachua and State of Florida and 
to the Sheriff delivered he was commanded 
that of the goods and Chattels lands and tenements of 
Atkinson Pooser he cause to be made the sum of money
with interest thereon and costs of suit as respectively app-
ears in the suits themselves which Phillip dell and others
lately recorded in the Circuit Court of Alachua County 
against Atkinson Pooser James H. Huggins and E.S. Gunnells
and that whereas the said Sheriff by virtue of writ did 
by virtue levy upon the property hereinafter mentioned
and described and whereas the said Sheriff John
O. Cosby as aforesaid did by virtue of said writ and
pursuant to the Statute in such case made and pro-
vided duly advertised the said property for sale 
on the first Monday of December Eighteen hundred
and sixty seven and did on that day sell the same 
at public auction according to law to the said Phillip Dell
for the sum of one hundred and sixty five dollars being 
the highest sum bid for the same. Now therefor Know 
ye that I the said John O. Cosby as Sheriff by virtue 
of the said writs and of the Statute in such cases made 
and provided in consideration of the sum of one hundred 
and sixty five dollars to me paid by the said party of the 
second part have granted bargained and sold and by
