This Indenture made this second day
of december AD 1867 between John O. Cosby Sheriff of
said County of the first part and Stephen F. Harvard
of the second part Whereas by virtue of a writ of Fieri
Facias issued out of the Circuit Court holden in and for
the County of Alachua And to the Sheriff delivered he was
commanded that of the goods and chattels lands and
tenements of Daniel Finger, he cause to be made the sum
of three hundred and eighty seven dollars and thirty eight
Cents with interest thereon, and cost of suit which John
P. Collassey lately recovered in the Circuit Court of Alachua
County against Daniel M. Finger, and whereas the said Sheriff
by virtue of said writ did on the nineth day of September
AD 1867 levy upon, and seize the property here after described
And whereas the said John O. Cosby as Sheriff as aforesaid
did by virtue of said writ and pursuant to the Statutes
in such case made, duly advertise the said property for sale
on the second day of December AD 1867 being the day and
date of these presents, and on this day sell the same at public
auction according to the law, to Stephen F. Harvard for the sum
of Four Hundred & fifty Dollars, being the highest sum bid
for the same, Now therefore Know ye that I the said John
O. Cosby as Sheriff, by virtue of the said writ and of the
Statutes in such case made and provided, in Consideration
of the said sum of Four hundred & fifty dollars to me in
hand paid by the party of the second part have granted
bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant bargain
and sell unto the said party of the second part his heirs
and assigns forever, all the following property, Viz lying
and being in the Town of Gainesville County of Alachua State
of Florida, That is to say, all that lot or parcel of land,
Known and described on the Map of said town as Lot No 31
Block (2), Range (3). The same being sixty feet front on the
west side of the Court House Square and running west
one hundred and ninety seven feet deep Together with all the
right title interest, and appurtenances which the said Daniel
M. Finger had in the said property, Jointly and severally and
and the same to hold as fully as I the said Sheriff as aforesaid
under said writ, could or ought to sell and convey the same.
