This Indenture made and entered into this the twenty
third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and seventy five
between Andrew Bates of the first part and Columbus
Morrison of the second part, both parties being of the
County of Alachua and State of Florida Witnesseth that
the said party of the first part for and in consideration
of the sum of six hundred Dollars to him in hand paid
by the said party of the first part at and before the signing
and delivery of these presents hath granted, bargained, sold
conveyed and delivered unto the said party of the second
part all that certain tract or parcel of land Known and
described as follows to wit; the South west quarter of Section
1-11-22(?) one in Township Eleven South of Range East, containing
one hundred and fifty nine and a half acres = To have and
to hold the same with all the rights titles privileges and appur=
tenancies thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining
unto the said Columbus Morrison to warrant
and forever defend the title and right of the above described
premises against the lawful claims of himself his heirs
executors or any and all other persons whomsoever claiming
the same or any part thereof. In testimony whereof the
said party of the first part hath hereunto set his hand
and seal this the twenty fourth day of January AD 1872

I, McKeen Carlton an acting Justice of
the Peace do hereby certify that the above deed of conveyance
was executed 24th of January AD 1872 before myself and
W.A. Carlton as subscribing witnesses to said Deed and
that Andrew Bates acknowledged that he signed the same
for the purposes therein expressed - Given under my
