Alachua County  } This Indenture made this
the 7th day of April AD 1873 between Sherman
Conant United States Marshall of the Northern
District of Florida of the first part and Stephen
McCall of said State and County of the second
part Witnesseth that where as by virtue of a
writ of Fieri Facias issued out of the United
States Circuit Court for the Northern District of
Florida and to the said Marshall delivered, he
was commanded that of the goods and chattels
lands and tenements of William Strickland he
cause to be made the sum of Thirteen hundred and
Thirty four Dollars with Interest and costs which
Lathrop & Co recovered against the said William Strick-
land, and whereas the said Marhsall by virtue of the
said writ of fieri facias did on the twenty first day
of October 1870 levy upon and seize the property herein
after described, and whereas the said Sherman Conant
as United States Marshall as aforesaid did by virtue
of said writ and pursuant to the Statutes in such
cases made and provided duly and legally advertised
the said property for sale on the seventh day of April
A.D. 1873 being the day of date of these presents and did
on this day sell the same at public action according to
law to the said Stephen McCall for the sum of Three hun-
dred And Twenty Dollars the said sum being the high-
est and best bid for the same - Now therefore Know Ye,
that I, the said Sherman Conant as said United States
Marshall by virtue of said writ and of the Statutes in
such cases made and provided in consideration of said
sum of Three hundred & Twenty Dollars by the said S. McCall
in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have granted bargained sold and coveyed and by these
presents do (grant bargain sell and convey) unto the said
Stephen McCall his heirs and assigns forever all the prop
erty herein after described to wit Section 8 and 16 Township
10 Range 20 South and East containing 1280 acres
more or less, also Block 6 and 7 in Range 2 and
Lot No 1 Block 5 Range 3; 120 feet by 76 feet together
with all the improvements; all of said Lots and Blocks
being situated in the Town of Gainesville also the North
1/2 of the North East and North West quarter (1/4) of South East
