Alachua County  } Know all men by these presents
that I, Mary E. Cheeves, wife of William T. Cheeves
for and in consideration of the sum of One dollar to me
in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
do hereby renounce and relinquish unto the aforesaid
Catherine Gay party of the second part all my right
title and interest of Dower which I may have in or to
the foregoing described Lands this 6th July AD 1874

Samuel J. Kennard Justice of the Peace in and for
said County and State William T. Cheeves who
being duly sworn says he signed the foregoing Deed
for the Express uses and purposes therein set forth
Sworn to before me July 6th AD 1874 Saml J. Kennard J.P.
           And the said M.E. Cheeves, wife of the said
William T. Cheeves on a separate examination from
her said husband says that she signed her right
of Dower voluntarily and without fear of or from her
said husband.

Owen County      } This Indenture made and entered
into this 26th day of August AD 1873 between Newton
Williams & Howard Todd of the State of Kentucky and
County of Owen parties of the first part and James B.
Brown of the State of Florida and County of Alachua party
of the second part. Witnesseth that for and in considera-
tion of the sum of Four Hundred Dollars paid by the
party of the second part to the parties of the first part
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the parties
of the first part have granted bargained sold and conveyed and
by these presents do sell and convey unto the said party of the second
