This Indenture made the 20th day of July A.D.
1874 between Thomas J. May of the County of Alachua
and State of Florida of the first part and Thos C.
Ellis of the same County and State of the second
part Witnesseth that for and in consideration
of the sum of one Dollar to me in hand paid the
receipt of which I hereby acknowledge, hath bargain
ed and sold and by these present do bargain and sell
& convey unto Thos C. Ellis party of the second part
all that certain piece or parcel of land known
and described as follows; The South half of the South
West quarter of section 28 in Township 9 Range 20
twenty, containing eighty acres more or less
with all the improvements thereon, and I, Thos J.
May party of the first do for myself my heirs ex-
ecutors, administrators & assigns do release and
convey and deliver unto the party of the second part
all my right title and interest in the above described
land that I have by virtue of Deed made to me by
Sherman Conant U.S. Marshall for the Northern
district of Fla made to me on the 9 day of Nov.
AD 1874. In witness whereof I, Thos J. May party of the
first part hath hereunto set my hand and seal this

Know all men by these presents that I, Cynthia J. May
wife of Thos J. May mentioned in the above deed do hereby
renounce and relinquish and forever quit claim to all
my dower and right of Dower in the above described
lands and I further declare that I make this renunci-
ation and relinquishment freely and voluntarily and
without any constraint or compulsion or apprehension or fear
of or from my said husband. In witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this 20 day of July 1874
