Alachua County  } Know all men by these presents, that
Daniel M. Finger of the State and County aforesaid, for and in
consideration of the sum of seventy five Dollars, to him in hand
paid by Thomas Paterson the receipt whereof is hereby acknowl
edged hath granted bargained, sold and conveyed, and by these
presents doth grant bargain sell alien, convey and deliver unto the
said Thomas Paterson of the State and County aforesaid, the fol-
lowing lot, tract, or parcel of land lying and being in the Town of
Gainesville, in said State and County, being one half of an undivi
ded lot or parcel of land, lying and being in the said town of Gaines
ville aforesaid, situated and bound in the plan of said town on the north
by the public broad road or street, running west from the north of the
Court house square, and east by lot now owned by said Thomas Pat-
erson and extending from the north west corner of said lot due south
three hundred and fifteen feet, thence due west two hundred and ten feet,
thence due north three hundred fifteen feet and thence due east on
said road or street to the north west corner of the aforesaid lot or parcel
of land of the said Thomas Paterson
     The said undivided lot or parcel of land measuring on the north,
or front side two hundred ten feet, on the east & west sides three hun
dred & fifteen feet and on the south side two hundred & ten feet
     To have and to hold one half of the said undivided lot or parcel of
hand together with a half interest of all and singular, the rights titles
privileges, improvements, and appurtenances there unto belonging, or in
anywise thereunto appertaining, in fee simple.
     To have the said Thomas Paterson his heirs executors, admin
istrators and assigns forever                   and the said
D.M. Finger unto the said Thomas Paterson his heirs executors, 
administrators, heirs and assigns the said bargained premises will
forever warrant and defend against the lawful claim or claims of any other
person or persons whatsoever, as far as in law or equity he may be bound
to do
     In testimony whereof the said D.M. Finger for himself, ex
ecutors, administrators and assigns hath hereunto set his hand and seal
this the 8 day of July 1864
