This Indenture made this Fourth day of February in
the year Eighteen hundred and seventy four between
Charles W. Brush, at present of San Francisco and
State of California - Executor of the last Will and
Testament of Nehemiah Brush, deceased, of the first part,
and Hardy Howard of Alachua County, and State
of Florida of the second part: Whereas, Nehemiah
Brush, by his Last Will and Testament, dated the
tenth day of March, in the year eighteen hundred
and forty three, duly admitted to Probate, and of
record in the office of the Clerk of Alachua
County and State of Florida, authorized and
empowered his Executor therein named to sell
and convey certain real estate also in said
Will named.  And Whereas, the party hereto
of the first part, the surviving named in Said
Will, by virtue of Such Authority has sold to the
said party hereto of the second part a portion
of said real estate, which is hereinafter described,
for the Sum of Two hundred and forty Dollars,
which amount has been fully by the Said party
of the Second part, as is hereby admitted.
  Now, therefore, this Indenture witnesseth, that in
consideration of the premises, and of one dollar, the said
party hereto of the first part, Executor as aforesaid
doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, convey and
confirm unto the said party hereto of the second part,
his heirs and assigns forever, In Fee, all that lot or parcel
of ground Situate and lying in Alachua County, State
of Florida --- being a portion of a Tract of Land Known
as "The Arredondo Grant"--- and described as follows,
that is to say: The West half of the North
West quarter of Section Twenty Three (23), in Township
Nine (9), in Range Twenty (20), as laid down on 
Burr and Washington's map of said Grant, and
containing Eighty acres, be the same more or less.
It being a part of the same ground which, by a
decree pass in the case of Brush et al against
Prall et al, in the Circuit Court of St. John's
County and State of Florida, on the eleventh
day of August, in the year eighteen hundred and
forty nine, which decree has been duly recorded
in the Clerk's Office of Alachua County in said
