lately on 22nd day of November AD 1869 recovered in our circuit
Court against William Strickland Et al as well as sundry
other sums with interest thereon together with the costs of
Suit which sundry persons at diverse times since have recovered
in our Circuit Court against said William Strickland
as well as the sum of nine hundred and thirty five 38/100
Dollars with interest thereon together with costs of suit which
Lathrop & Co lately on the 5th day of September AD 1870 recovered
in the United States Circuit Court 5th Circuit Northern District
of Florida against the said William Strickland and whereas I
George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of said writs
did on the 21st day of December AD 1870 levy upon and seize the
property herein after described and did by virtue of Said writs
and pursuant to the statutes in such case made and pro
-vided duly advertised the said property for Sale on the first
Monday of December AD 1870 which sale was for deverse reasons pos
poned from month to month until the seventh day of March
AD 1871 and did on that day sell the same at public action
auction according to law to William Edwards for the sum of
three hundred seventy Dollars being the highest bid for
the same. Now Therefore Know ye that I the said George L.
Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of the said writs
and of the Statutes in such case made and provided for
and in consideration of said sum of Three hundred and
Seventy dollars to me in hand paid by the said William
Edwards party of the second part, have granted bargained
and sold unto the said William Edwards party of the 
second part his heirs and assigns forever all the
following property to wit - Block Six (6) and Seven (7) in Range
six (6) and Seven (7) Situated in the town of Gainesville
together with all the improvements thereon and with
all the rights titles interests and equities which the said
William Strickland had in and to the same. To have
and to hold as fully as I the said George L. Barnes as Sheriff
as aforesaid might could or ought to sell and convey
the same   Given under my hand and seal this the sixth
day of March AD 1871
