  Know all men by these presents that I C.W. Little of the
County of Alachua in the State of Florida in consideration
of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid by R.M. Witt
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I do hereby convey
grant bargain and sell to Said R.M. Witt and his heirs
and assigns one dark Bay mare mule Supposed to be
12 or 14 years old being the same mule sold to Said C.W.
Little by said Witt this day and Said C.W. Little is to
Keep Said mule free of expense to said Witt and have
the use of her for the same and this instrument is
executed for the Security of the payment of a certain prom
-isory note bearing even date herewith reading as follows
(on the first day of October 1875 I promis to pay to R.
M. Witt or Bearer the Sum of one hundred dollars
with interest at the rate of ten percent after due)
for value received and signed by C.W. Little and it
is provided nevertheless if the said C.W. Little his
heirs or assigns shall pay to the said R.M. Witt
or his assigns the said note according to the
condition thereof then this obligation is null and
void otherwise to remain in full force and
said R.M. Witt is to retain the property in said mule
and take possession of it at any time at his option if
Said note is not paid at maturity
