County of Alachua} Before the subscriber a Justice of the
Peace in and for said County personally came William C.
Bell and May V. Bell his wife who severally acknowl-
edged that they signed the foregoing Deed for the purposes
therein contained And the said May V. Bell being sep-
arately examined apart from her said husband declares
that she signed the same freely & voluntarily and without
fear or compulsion of her said husband. In testimony whereof
I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 16th day of April AD 1875

Know all men by these presents that I, William C. Beckham
of the County of Alachua & State of Florida for and in considera-
tion of the sum of Fifteen Hundred ($1500.00) Dollars to
me in hand paid by Mrs. Catherine Gay of the County &
State aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
do hereby grant sell & convey unto the said Catherine Gay, and
her assigns all that tract or parcel of land or tenements situated
in the County of Alachua & State of Florida & known & described
as follows; Lots one & two, seven & eight in Section nine
being the North East quarter Also Lots eight & nine & four
teen in Secion four in Township nine being the South East
quarter of said Section Range twenty two South & East
containing in all (300) Three Hundred acres more or less. To
have & to hold the foresaid granted premises to the said Cathe
rine Gay her heirs & assigns to her & their sole use & behoof
forever and by these presents do warrant & defend the said premises
to the said Catherine Gay her heirs & assigns forever against the
lawful claims & demands of all persons In wintess whereof I William
C. Beckham together with Martha E. Beckham my wife who
hereby reliquishes her right of Dower in the premises have
hereunto set our hands & seals this 16th day of April AD one
thousand Eight hundred & seventy five.
