State of Florida } This Indenture made the 28th day of October
County of Florida} 1875 between John W. Cannon as Trustee for
Alex D. Cannon of said State & County of the first part & J.M. Hop
kins & R.H. Higgins of the City of Louisville & State of Kentucky of the 
second part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Three
hundred & seventy seven Dollars & thirty three cents to them in hand paid
by the said John W. Cannon as Trustee the receipt whereof is hereby acknowl
edged do by these presents grant bargain sell & convey unto the said J.M.
Hopkins & R.H. Higgins their heirs & assigns a certain piece or parcel
of land situated in the town of Gainesville Florida & known as Bailey's
addition & described as follows; commencing at the NE corner of land
owned by Lathrop & Co, thence running North 200 feet to a stake, thence
west Four hundred (400) feet, thence South two hundred (200) feet thence
East Four hundred (400) feet back to place of beginning together with all the
privileges & appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have
and to hold the aforegranted premises to the said J.M. Hopkins & R.H.
Higgins their heirs & assigns in fee simple And the said John W. Cannon
as Trustee for Alex D. Cannon will & his heirs executors & administrators shall
the said property to the said J.M. Hopkins & R.H. Higgins their heirs
executors & administrators forever defend against the lawful demands of 
all persons whatsoever.  In testimony whereof the said John W. Cannon Trustee
has hereunto set his hand & seal this the day & year above written
