Alachua County  }  This Indenture made this the 6th day of
February A.D. 1873, between Benj W. Powell, his wife Esther M.
Powell jointly of the first part and Simon Griffin of the second
part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty
five Dollars in hand paid to the party of the first at & before the
sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby ac-
knowledged, the said parties of the first part have granted, given
bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents do give, grant,
bargain, sell and convey to the said party of the second part all
of that certain parcel or tract of land known as lot number
one, containing one acre more or less situated near the South East
corner of a tract of land surveyed by C.S. Welds on the 7th Sept
1868 and sold by William Edwards administrator of the Est. of
G.B. Payne on the first day of January 1861 and which tract of land
is described as follows: Bounded on the East by land of the Estate
of B.S. Stonghton, South by the survey of the village of Micanopy, West
by lands of the Est. of James Childs & F.L. Freyer and on the North by
the Section line of what is known as Micanopy section 26 of the
Arrodonda Grant, and containing seventy (70) acres more or less
To have and to hold the above described premises together with the
improvements, buildings and appurtenances to the same belonging
or in any wise appertaining unto the said party of the second part
his heirs executors, administrators and assigns in fee simple forever.
