and for said county and State B.W. Powell and his wife
E.M. Powell who acknowledged the within indenture of
deed to be their each and several voluntary act for
the purposes therein set forth.

This indenture made the fifth day of February in the
year one thousand eight hundred and seventy two between
James H. Roper of the Town of Gainesville County of Alachua State
of Florida of the first part and Mrs. Anna C. Drake of the
same town, County and State of the second part. Witnesseth
That the said party of the first part for and in consid
eration of the sum of eight hundred ($80000 Dollars lawful
money of the United States to him duly paid before the de
livery hereof hath bargained and sold and by these
presents doth grant and convey to the said party of the
second part his heirs and assigns forever all that certain
piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of
Alachua and State of Florida and which is known and
described as follows, to wit: Start on west side of University
Street at the North East corner of the colored Baptist Church
lot and run West two hundred and fifteen (215) feet to a
stake the place of beginning: then run South four hundred |
