Alachua County  } This Indenture made this 14th day of December
1875 between Reubin May of the first part and John Dogan
of the second part witnesseth that said party of the first part for and
in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars to him
in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bar-
gained, sold and conveyed and by these presents doth bargain sell
and convey unto the said party of the second part all that certain
piece or parcel of land, situate about 3 1/2 miles from Gainesville in said
State and County and known and described as follows: The West
half of the North West quarter of Section Twenty three (23) Township
nine (9) Range Twenty (20) in the Arredondo Grant and contain
ing Eighty (80) acres together with, all and singular the rights her-
editaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging.  To Have and
To Hold the said premises unto the said party of the second part
and his heirs and assigns forever.  And said party of the first part
for himself and his executors and Administrators will and doth
by these presents defend and warrant the title to said land unto the
said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns against
the claim or claims of all persons whomsoever.  In witness whereof
the said Reubin May hereto sets his hand and seal the day
and year aforesaid.         }

State of Florida}  Be it known that I, Eliza J. May wife of the
Alachua County  }  above named grantor, do by these presents for the
sum of five dollars to me in hand paid, release renounce and re
linquish all my right of dower or dower in or to the parcel of land
described in the above deed unto the said John Dogan and
his heirs and assigns.

State of Florida} Before me S.F. Halliday Notary Public for the
Alachua County  } County of Alachua and State of Florida personally
came Eliza J. May who being examined by me separately and apart
from her husband Reubin May she acknowledged that she signed
sealed and delivered and made the foregoing relinquishment
and renunciation of dower freely and voluntarily and without
