This Indenture made and entered into on this the Seventeenth
day of November A.D. (1875) Eighteen Hundred and Seventy five
By and between Mrs Catherine Gay of the County of Alachua
and State of Florida aforesaid party of the first part and Mr
Samuel Thomas party of the second part.  Witnesseth that
the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the
sum of ($100000) One thousand dollars to her in hand paid
at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt
is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and con
firmed unto the said party of the second part his heirs and as
signs forever all that certain lot or parcel of land lying and
being situated in the County of Alachua and State of Florida
and known and described as follows.  Section Twenty three Town-
ship Nine Range Twenty one containing 640 acres Six hun
dred and forty acres more or less Together with all and singu-
lar the tenements and appertainences thereunto belonging or
in anywise appertaining.  To have and to hold the above described
land unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns
forever.  In witness whereof the said party of the first part has
hereunto set her hand and seal the day and date first above written

Alachua County   } Before me a Justice of the Peace in and
for said County personally came Mrs Catherine Gay and A.
Gay her husband who severally acknowledged they executed
the within deed of conveyance for the purposes therein con-
