Alachua County  } Whereas I, L.A. Barnes under and by virtue
of sundry executions in favor of James S. Turner and others a-
gainst James H. Roper issued out of the Circuit and County
Courts of Alachua County Florida and to me directed did levy
upon the property hereinafter described to satisfy said execu
tions as the property of the said defendant James H. Roper and
did pursuant to law advertise said property for sale at pub
lic outcry before the Court House door in the Town of Gainesville
Fla, on this Monday the 7th day of February A.D. 1876 and did on
said day sell the same at said Court House door during the
legal hours of sale and whereas at said sale Lutie Cecil
became the purchaser of that particular portion of the
said lands so levied upon and advertised as aforesaid as here
inafter particularly described for the sum of twenty dollars
that being the highest sum bid for the same and she being
the bidder thereof   Now therefore know all men by these pres
ents that I, L.A. Barnes as Sheriff of Alachua County Florida
under and by virtue of said executions and the levies and the
sale thereunder made as aforesaid and for and in consideration
of the sum of twenty dollars to me as such sheriff in
hand paid by the said Lutie Cecil the receipt whereof I
do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and
conveyed and by these presents do grant, bargain sell and
convey unto the said Lutie Cecil of said County and State
all that certain tract piece parcel or tract of land lying
and being situated in the County of Alachua in the State of
Florida particularly described as commencing at the Center
of Sweet Water Branch south of where the Atlantic Gulf
and West India Transit Company's Rail Road crosses said
branch in the South West quarter of Section four (4)
Township Ten (10) Range twenty (20) South & East from
thence North (seventy four and a half degrees east) ten (10)
chains to a stake south of said Rail Road said
line running south of and parallel with said Rail
Road, thence South, to said section line four and 83/100
chains to a stake thence west in said section line
eight 20/100 chains sweet water branch thence North
(thirty three degrees west) up said branch four (4)
chains to place of beginning containing four (4) acres
more or less.  To have and to hold the same to her the
said Lutie Cecil and to her heirs executors administrators
and assigns in fee simple forever, as fully as I the said L.A.
