thousand eight hundred and seventy seven taken the above men-
tioned house of Worship under our spiritual Jurisdiction as
Bishop aforesaid, and that our successors in office; and in pre-
sence of divers of the clergy, and a public congregation therein assembled
and according to the form prescribed by the Protestant Epis=
copal Church in the United States of America, have Consecrated
the same by the name of Trinity Church Gainesville Florida,
    And we do hereby pronounce and declare that the said
Trinity Church is Consecrated accordingly, and thereby sepa=
rated henceforth from all unhallowed, worldly and common
uses and dedicated to the worship and service of Almighty
God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, for reading and
preaching, his Holy Word, for Celebrating his Holy sacraments
for offering to His Glorious Majesty the sacrifices of Prayer,
Praise and Thanksgiving, for blessing His people in His name
And for the performance of all other Holy offices, agreeable to
the terms of the Covenant of Grace and Salvation in our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ, and according to the provisions of
the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of Amer-
ica, in its ministry, Doctrines, Liturgy, Rights and usages,

and signature in Gainesville on the day and year above written,
and in the tenth year of our consecration

State of Florida         }
Alachua County           }  This Indenture made and entered into on this
the eighteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and seventy
seven between John S. Flewellen of the first part and Littleton J.
Philips of the second part both of the County of Alachua and
State aforesaid that the witnesseth that the said party of the
first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred
and seventy five dollars lawful money of the United States
to him duly paid before the delivery hereof hath bargained
and sold and by these presents doth grant and convey to
the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns for-
ever all that certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in
the County and State aforesaid and which is known and des-
cribed as follows to wit: the North half of the south half of
southwest quarter of section seventeen (17) in Township (10) then
Range (14) fourteen East commencing two hundred and
twenty yds up the north and south section line then running
two hundred and twenty yds up said section line thence East half
a mile thence south two hundred and twenty yds to land owned by Mrs.
M.A. Smith containing forty acres more or less together with all
and singular the Tenements hereditaments and appurtenances
and all the estate title and interest of the said party of the
