Know all Men by these Presents, That I G.S. Ramsey (Cont=
ractor on Route No 16149 State of Florida) of New Troy Lafayett
County in the State of Florida, have made, constituted and appointed,
And by these presents do make, constitute and appoint, Bartlett S.
Foster of Gainesville Alachua County Florida my true and
lawful Attorney for me, and in my name, place and stead to
act, demand, collect, & receive from the Auditor of the Treasury for
the Post Office Department the amount due or becoming due
me as Contractor on route 16149 State of Florida for mail
Service commencing June 9th 1877 & extending to June 30th 1880
the end of my contract term & full receipt for the Same to
give & I do furthermore appoint Said B.S. Foster my agent &
Attorney to transfer & Carry said mail our said Route as per
my contract filed with the P.O. Department as Contractor on
Said Route 16149, & empower him as Such to draw as above
indicated his pay for said mail Service quarterly it being
One hundred and Seventy three 50/100 dollars each quarter or Six
hundred & Ninety four dollars per Annum.
And for the purposes aforesaid, I do hereby grant unto my
Said Attorney full power and authority to do and perform
all and every act whatsoever requisite and necessary to be
done in and about the premises, as fully to all intents and
purposes as I might or could do if personally present, with
full power of substitution and revocation hereby ratifying
and Confirming all that my Said Attorney shall lawfully do
or cause to be done by virtue hereof, hereby annulling and
revoking all former powers of Attorney or Authorization what-
ever in the premises

Personally appeared before me, the Subscriber, a Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Said County the above named Garland
S. Ramsey to me well known, and acknowledged the fore-
going Letter of Attorney to be his free and voluntary act
