State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that I George
County of Alachua } Gillett of the State of Florida and County afore-
said for and in consideration of six hundred dollars to me in
hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do give grant
bargain sell and convey unto Hampton Roundtree his heirs, Execu-
tors Administrators and assigns, all that certain piece or parcel of
land lying and being situate in the State of Florida and County of
Alachua and known and distinguished as the N half of the NW
quarter of the NW1/4 of the NE1/4 of Sec 3 T 11 & R 21 with all
the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any
wise appertaining.
To have and to hold the aforesaid premises unto the said Hamp-
ton Roundtree his heirs Executives Administrators and assigns
forever in fee simple. And I the said George Gillett for myself
my heirs executors Administrators and assigns do covenant
with the said Hampton Roundtree his heirs, Administrators
Executors and assigns that I am lawfully seized in fee of the
aforesaid premises; that it is free from all encumbrances; that
I have a good right to sell and convey the same to the said Hampton
Roundtree as aforesaid, and that I will for myself and my
heirs Executors Administrators shall warrant and defend the
same to the said Hampton Roundtree his heirs executors Ad-
ministrators & assigns against the lawful claims of all persons
and I Mary Gillett wife of the said George Gillett for the con-
sideration aforesaid and for divers other good and valuable
consideration do hereby release and quit claim unto the said
Hampton Roundtree his heirs Executors Administrators and
assigns all my right claim or probability of Dower in or out
of the aforesaid premises.
In witness whereof we the said George Gillett and Mary
Gillett have hereunto set our hands and seals this 21st day of
November AD 1865. }

County of Alachua } I, J.C. Gardner Judge of the probate of the
State of Florida for the County of Alachua do hereby certify that
upon an examination of Mrs Mary Gillett wife of the said George
Gillett, separate & apart from her said husband, She stated that she
joined her said husband in the foregoing deed for the
purpose of relinquishing her right of dower in the premises
conveyed therein, that she did so with a full knowledge of
what she was doing that she did so freely and voluntarily
without compulsion or fear of her said husband, or apprehension
of the same, Given under my hand this 1st day of November AD
