Alachua County   } This Indenture made and entered into on this -
day of Feb AD 1877, between Louis A. Barnes as Sheriff of Alachua
County State of Florida the party of the first part, and David H.
Carn of the State and County aforesaid party of the second part,
Witnesseth; That whereas I the said Louis A. Barnes as Sheriff
         under and
as aforesaid^by virtue of Sundry executions issued out of the
Circuit Court for Alachua County in the 5th Judicial Circuit
of Florida in favor of James S. Turner and others and against
James H. Roper; and whereas said Sundry writs of Fieri Facias
were to me directed and delivered under and by virtue whereof
I did levy upon and advertise the property hereinafter described
for sale on the 7th day of February AD 1876 and whereas I the
                                      in such cases
said Sheriff did pursuant to the Statutes^made and provided
sell the said property hereinafter described as the property of
the Defendant James H. Roper in said execution, at public
outcry before the Court House Door in the town of Gaines-
ville in the aforesaid State and County between the legal
hours of sale; And whereas David H. Carn became the pur-
chaser of the property hereinafter described for the sum of one
25/100 Dollars that being the highest and best sum bid for the
same; Now therefore Know ye: That I the said Louis A. Barnes
as Sheriff as aforesaid under and by virtue of the said writs
of execution to me as said Sheriff directed and delivered
and under and by virtue of the levy, advertise and sale
thereunder made pursuant to the statutes in such cases made
and provided and for and in consideration of the said sum
of one 25/100 Dollars to me as such sheriff in hand paid by
the said David H. Carn have granted bargained sold and
conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and
convey unto the said David H. Carn party of the second part
the following described lots pieces or parcel of land lying
and being in the County of Alachua and State of Florida
and more particularly known and described as follows;
to wit: Lot two (2) Block four (4) Range (4) corner of In-
diana Avenue and Magnolia Street being two hundred
feet (200) ft East and West by two hundred and seventy eight
feet (278) North and South in Ropers Addition to the town of
Gainesville being in Section four (4) Township ten (10) Range
