This is to certify that Thomas Tillis has purchased from the un-
dersigned James T. Soutter and John McRae, Trustees of the Florida Rail
Road company. The South East quarter of the south West quarter
of the North West quarter of the North East quarter and the 
North East quarter of the North West quarter of Section thirty one
Township seven south of Range twenty one East containing
one hundred & twenty Six & 45/100 acres more or less for which

he has paid us the sum of one hundred and four & 93/100 Dollars,
and also executed his two notes bearing even date with these presen-
                and
ts payable in one^two years respectively for the sum of Eighty five
dollars and thirty seven cents-            Dollars
on the payment of which said several notes we hereby bind
ourselves to make to the said Thomas Tillis a good and perfect
fee simple title to the said lands.
It being however, distinctly understood that in the event of a fail-
ure to pay any of the said notes within thirty days, after the sum
shall have matured; it shall be at our option whether to enforce
payment of the said notes, or treat the said contract as annulled 
all previous payments as forfeited, and to resell the said lands.
  Witness our hands and seals, this the 4th day of August AD
1859.
