State of Florida  } Before the Subscriber came A.W. Hinson
County of Alachua } who being duly Sworn Says that he is one
of the Subscribing Witnesses to the Signing of the within
saw James M. Hawthorn and wife Sarah P. Hawthorn

State of Florida }  
Alachua County   } This Indenture made and entered into 
this third day of August AD Eighteen hundred and Seventy 
Seven between Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff of Alachua County Florida 
party of the first part, and Mrs Pauline Brown party of the Second 
part,
   Witnesseth that whereas I the Said S.C. Tucker Sheriff as afore-
said under and by virtue of a decree of foreclosure of Mortgage
made and rendered in the Circuit Court for Alachua County 
in the Fifth Judicial Circuit of the State of Florida dated the
first day of December AD 1874 in favor of Edward Haile as Survi-
ving partner of the firm of Savage and Haile and against
J.H. Roper, I was commanded to levy upon and Seize the
property hereinafter described as the property of the Said
J.H. Roper to Satisfy Said decree of foreclosure and whereas
I, the Said S.C. Tucker as Sheriff as aforesaid under and
by virtue of Said decree of foreclosure of Mortgage and the
Statutes in Such Cases made and provided did levy upon
and Seize the property hereinafter described as the
property of the Said J.H. Roper the defendant and did
duly and legally advertise the Same for Sale on the
first Monday in July AD 1877 the Same being the 2nd
day of said month and did pursuant to the decree
of foreclosure of Mortgage aforesaid and the levy
and advertisement thereunder made, Sell the Same at 
public Auction before the Court House Door in the town 
of Gainesville in the County and State aforesaid on the 
Said 2nd day of July AD 1877 between the legal hours of 
Sale and whereas at said sale Mrs Pauline Brown became 
the purchaser of the property hereinafter described for 
the Sum of One hundred Dollars that being the high-
est and best Sum bid for the Same and She being the 
bidder thereof:-
Now therefore Know ye that I the Said Samuel C. Tucker 
Sheriff as aforesaid under and by virtue of the decree of
foreclosure of Mortgage aforesaid and the levy advertise-
