Alachua County   } This agreement made and entered into
this 12th day of September AD 1877, by and between John W. Foy
party of the first part and David H. Carn of Alachua
County Florida party of the Second part.
                                   Witnesseth that whereas
F.M. Jones Did on the 28th day of November AD 1871,
obtain letters patent No one hundred and twenty thousand
three hundred and eighty (120380.) from the United States
for an improvement in tombstones and monuments and
did thereafter Sell his entire interest in Said patent
to McCrackin & Graham of Coldwater, Tate County
Mississippi: And Said McCrackin & Graham did
thereafter Sell their entire interest in said patent to F.A.
and J.J. Skelton and they did thereafter Sell their interest
in said patent or the exclusive right under Said Patent
to manufacture use and sell Tombstones & Monuments
manufactures under said Patent within the County of
Alachua in the State of Florida to John A. Johnson
and Thos B. Brown, and Said Johnson & Brown did
thereafter Sell the exclusive right to use Said Patent in
the Said County of Alachua in the State of Florida
to the party of the first part herein and now I the Said
John W. Foy the Said party of the first part have this
day for and in Consideration of the Sum of five doll-
ars to me paid by the Said D.H. Carn the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged, and for and in Consideration
that the said D.H. Carn will equally render to and deliver
to and account to me for one half of the net profits
