State of Florida } Whereas I, Louis A. Barnes Sheriff of
Alachua County   } Alachua County Florida under and by
Sundry Executions issued out of the Circuit Court for the
Fifth Judicial Circuit of the State of Florida in and for Alachua
County in favor of James S. Turner and others and against
James H. Roper and to me as such Sheriff directed and delivered
I was commanded to levy upon and Seize the property hereinafter
described as the property of the said James H. Roper the defendant
in said executions and Whereas I the Said L.A. Barnes as Sheriff
as aforesaid under and by virtue of the executions aforesaid
did levy upon and Seize the property hereinafter described as
the property of the Said J.H. Roper the defendant in said
Executions and did duly and legally advertise the Same for
Sale on the Seventh day of February AD 1876 to Satisfy Said
Executions and whereas I the said L.A. Barnes as Sheriff as
aforesaid pursuant to said levy and advertisement and the
Statutes in such cases made and provided did sell the Same
at public Auction before the Court house door in the town
of Gainesville in the County and State aforesaid on the Said
Seventh day of February AD 1876, between the legal hours of Sale and
whereas at Said Sale Bartlett S. Foster became the purchaser
of the property hereinafter described for the Sum of three ------
Dollars that being the highest and best Sum bid for the
Same and the Said Bartlett S. Foster being the bidder
thereof; -
Now therefore know ye that I the Said L.A. Barnes as
Sheriff as aforesaid under and by virtue of the executions
aforesaid and the levy advertizement and Sale thereunder
made and for and in Consideration of the Said Sum of three
(3) Dollars to me as Such Sheriff in hand paid the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained Sold
and Conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain Sell
and Convey unto the Said Bartlett S. Foster and to his heirs
and Assigns forever all that Certain lot or parcel of land lying
and being in the County and State aforesaid in section four
(4) township ten (10) Range twenty (20) and particularly known
and described as follows to wit; - Lot one (1) Block four (4)
Range four (4) Lot Five (5) Block one (1) Range three (3)
Lot (10 1/2) Ten & a half Block Two (2) Range two (2) Lot Eleven
(11) Block three (3) Range two (2) Lot (4) four Block two (2)
Range four (4), All in Ropers Addition to the town of Gaines-
ville in Section Four (4) in township ten (10) South, Range
twenty (20) east.
To Have and to Hold unto him the Said Bartlett S. Foster
and to his heirs and assigns forever as fully and
effectually as I the Said L.A. Barnes as Sheriff as afore-
Said might could or ought to Sell and Convey the Same
