This Indenture made & entered into this October 1st AD 1877,
between Charlotte F. Bauknight of the first part and William
C. Darden of the Second part, Witnesseth that the party of the
first part for and in Consideration of the Sum of one dollar
to her in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowl-
edged and also in consideration of love and affection hath gran-
ted bargained Sold and Conveyed and by these presents does
grant bargain Sell and Convey to the party of the Second part
all that Certain tract or parcel of land Situate & being in the
County of Alachua in the State of Florida and known and
described as the South East Quarter of the North East Quarter
of the North West Quarter of Section Seventeen in township eleven
of Range Eighteen Containing ten acres more or less: To have and
to hold to the Said party of the Second part only upon these
terms and Conditions, that the Said party of the Second part
may use and enjoy the Said land during his life and he only
and that the Same shall not be taken by or Subjected to the use

enjoyment or benefit of any Creditor of the^Second part for any
debts demands or claims they may hold against the Said
party of the Second part nor or at any other time, and the
Said party of the Second part is hereby empowered in his own
name to Covey the Said land Should he be disposed so to do
by deed of bargain or Sale, gift or otherwise or to bequeath the
Same by will the price or proceeds of Said Sale Should then
be one to go to the Said party of the Second part, whether the Said
proceeds be money or any other property that may be taken
in payment of Said land if Sold and to go to his sole use and
benefit & not subject to the Claims of any Creditor of the said party
of the Second part, the same disposition to attend any proper-
ty that may be bought with said proceeds, it being the intent &
meaning of this Conveyance that the Said party of the Second
part Shall alone use and enjoy the Said land or any other
property unto which it may be Converted Solong as he may
live and that he may dispose of the Same by deed will
or otherwise as before stated
