Alachua County   } This Indenture made and entered into 
this the 3rd day of September AD Eighteen hundred and
Seventy Seven between Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff of Alachua
County Florida of the first part and Thomas A. Darby
of the second part Witnesseth That Whereas the Said S.
C. Tucker as Sheriff as aforesaid under and by virtue of a
writ of Fieri Facias issued out of the Circuit Court of
Alachua County in the Fifth Judicial Circuit of Florida
in favor of Samuel Payne and against Frank Stuart and 
to me as such Sheriff directed and delivered, I did levy 
upon and seize the property hereinafter described as 
the property of the said Frank Stuart the Defendant to 
Satisfy the Said execution and did duly and legally ad-
vertise the same for sale on the first Monday in Septem-
ber the same being the 3rd day of said month, and did 
pursuant to said levy and advertisement and the author-
ity in me vested by the Statutes in Such Cases made and
provided, sell the property hereinafter described at public 
Auction before the Court House door in the town of Gaines-
ville in the County and State aforesaid on the Said 3rd day
of September AD 1877 between the legal hours of Sale and 
Whereas at said sale Thomas A. Darby became the purchaser 
of the property hereinafter described for the Sum of one
hundred and forty Dollars that being the highest and 
best Sum bid for the Same and he being the bidder thereof:
Now therefore know ye, That I the Said Samuel C. Tucker 
as Sheriff as aforesaid under and by virtue of the Execution 
aforesaid and the levy, advertisement and Sale thereunder 
made and for and in Consideration of the Said Sum of 
One Hundred and Forty Dollars to me as such Sheriff in 
hand paid by the Said Thomas A. Darby the receipt whereof 
is hereby acknowledged I have granted bargained Sold and 
Conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain, Sell and 
Convey unto the Said Thomas A. Darby and to his heirs and 
assigns forever all the following property lying and being in
the County and State above written and particularly known
and described as follows to wit: -
Lot thirteen (13) in the North West Quarter of Section Five
(5) Township ten (10) Range twenty (20) S&E Containing five
(5) acres less fifteen (15) feet on each Side left for Streets
Situated lying and being in the town of Gainesville in the
County of Alachua and State of Florida
To Have and to hold unto him the Said Thomas A.
Darby and to his heirs and assigns forever as fully 
and effectually as I the Said S.C. Tucker as Sheriff
as aforesaid might Could or ought to Sell and Convey 
the Same
