Be it remembered that on the twenty seven day
of August AD 1877 personally appeared before me the
Subscriber J.J. Jones and Virginia E. Jones his wife gran-
tors in the above Indenture Deed or Conveyance
named and in due form of law severally acknowl-
edged the foregoing Indenture deed or Conveyance
to be their act and deed and desire that the same
as such may be recorded according to law, She
the said Virginia E. Jones being examined by me
privately and apart from her husband and the
full contents thereof being first made known to
her by me did acknowledge it to be her own
free will and act and deed and that she was not
forced or urged thereto by any coercion or compul-
sion on the part of her husband

Know all men by these presents, that where-
as, on the 7th day of October AD 1873 the Bank
of Madison a Corporation duly created organ-
ized and existing under and by virtue of the
laws of the State of Wisconsin, for and engaged
at the City of Madison in the Western District
of Wisconsin in the business of Banking by
James L. Hill the President thereof filed in
due form of law, a voluntary petition praying
to be adjudged a Bankrupt in the District
Court of the United States for the Western District
of Wisconsin, which petition was by said Court
duly referred to Sidney Foote Esqr one of the
Registers in Bankruptcy of said Court and there
upon such proceedings were had that on the 7th
day of October AD 1873, the said Bank of Madison
was duly adjudged a Bankrupt: and thereafter
and on the 21st day of October AD 1873, Willitt S.
Main was by said Court (the creditors having failed to
elect an assignee) duly appointed assignee of the
Estate and effects of said Bankrupt, which appoint-
ment and trust he duly accepted and duly qual-
ified as such assignee according to law and
Whereas on the 22nd day of October AD 1873, Sidney
Foote Esqr Register in Bankruptcy as aforesaid to
whom it was duly referred executed in the form of
