Alachua County } Whereas I, J.A. Carlisle was by an order of His Honor
R.B. Archibald Judge of the Circuit Court in Duval County for the 4th
Judicial Circuit of Florida made and rendered on the 17th day of February AD
1877, duly appointed a Commissioner to carry out, conduct and make a
sale of the lands hereinafter described belonging to the Estate of Sarah Ann
R. Shelton deceased for the purpose of making a division of the said Estate
of Sarah Ann R. Shelton amongst the heirs at Law of said Estate
And whereas I did as such Commissioner acting under the authority of said
order of Court, duly advertise the lands hereinafter described for sale according
to law on the 2nd day of April AD 1877, at Public outcry before the Court
House Door in the Town of Gainesville, Alachua County Florida
And whereas I as such Commissioner did on the the said Second day of
April AD 1877 before the Court House door in Gainesville Alachua County
Florida sell at public outcry the lands hereinafter described during the legal
hours of Sale and according to law. And whereas at said Sale William
S. Carpenter became the purchaser of the lands as hereinafter particularly
described for the sum of Six hundred and fifty ($650\00) Dollars that being
the highest sum bid for the same and he being the bidder thereof, and
whereas the said Sale has been approved, ratified and confirmed by an order of
his Honor R.B. Archibald Judge of the 4th Judicial Circuit of Florida made
on the 16th day of April AD 1877 and I the Said J.A. Carlisle as such
Commissioner am thereby authorized and instructed to execute a deed in
conformity with the Sale. Now therefore Know all men by these presents
that I, J.A. Carlisle as Such Commissioner as aforesaid for and in consideration
of the said Sum of Six hundred and fifty dollars to me cash in hand paid
by the Said William S. Carpenter have granted bargained, Sold and conveyed, and
by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto him the said William
S. Carpenter the following described lands Sold as aforesaid; for partition among the
heirs at law of the Estate of Sarah Ann R. Shelton deceased, to wit: The North
half of the North West Quarter and the North West Quarter of the North East
Quarter of Section Twenty Six (26) and the South East Quarter of the South East
of the North East Quarter of Section Twenty two (22) and the South West
Quarter of the South East Quarter of Section twenty three (23) in township
Eight (8) South of Range twenty one (21) East Containing two hundred and
forty (240) acres more or less, lying and being near the Town or Village of
Waldo in Alachua County State of Florida
To Have and to Hold the same unto him the Said William S. Carpenter his heirs
executors administrators and assigns in fee Simple forever. In Witness Whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this the 15th day of
August AD 1877
