  Charleston Dist       } I, E. Montague Grimke Administrator
with the will annexed of the last will & testament of Thomas
Napier decd of Charleston South Carolina by virtue of the au-
thority & power given to me under the will of Said Thomas Napier
decd duly probated & of record in the said City of Charleston
State of South Carolina for and in Consideration of the Sum
of eight hundred dollars to be paid by James F. Gwin now a
resident of Alachua County State of Florida have granted bargain-
ed Sold & Conveyed & by these presents do grant bargain Sell
& Convey unto the Said James F. Gwin his heirs executors admin-
istrators and assigns the following described tract or parcel of
Land to wit Section thirty one (31) Township (11) eleven Range
(19) nineteen East Situate lying and being in the Survey of
the Arredondo Grant as Surveyed by Burr & Washington in the
County of Alachua & State of Florida Containing Six hundred
and forty two 27/100 acres more or less. To Have and to Hold
the above described premises with the hereditaments & appur-
tenancies unto the Said James F. Gwin his heirs executors
administrators & assigns forever in fee Simple and I, E.
Montague Grimke as administrator with the will annexed
of the last will and testament of the Said Thomas Napier
decd do hereby warrant and defend the before described
premises unto the Said James M. Gwin his heirs, executors
administrators & assigns against myself & all other persons
lawfully claiming or to claim the Same
In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed
my Seal this twenty third day of October AD 1875

AD One^Eight hundred and Seventy five before me V.J. Tobias a
Commissioner duly appointed and authorized under the
laws of the State of Florida to take within the State of South
Carolina proof and acknowledgments of Deeds and other
instruments to be used and recorded in the Said State of
Florida personally appeared E. Montague Grimke administra-
tor with the will annexed of Thomas Napier to me well known
to be the person described in the above deed and who execu-
ted the foregoing instrument and acknowledged the execution
                            deed
thereof to be his free act and^for the purposes and uses thereon
mentioned.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed
