County of Alachua } This Indenture made and entered into on
this 18 day of January AD 1878 Between George W. Means & Mattie
S. Means his wife parties of the first part and C.C. Manigault
is party of the Second part. Witness that Whereas the party of the
second part did on or about the 1st day of January AD 1871
for and in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred purchase
and pay for a certain lot of land Containing one acre more
or less in the Village of Micanopy Florida and known and
described as bounded on the North by a lot owned and oc-
cupied by George & Charles Rigs and on the east by a lot
owned and occupied by Peter Wardlaw and where as no
title has passed from the Said parties of the first part now -
therefore they do hereby Convey to the Said party of the Second part
all the right title and interest which they had or held at the
time aforesaid in and to Said lot of land to have and to hold
the Same to the only proper benefit and behoof of the Said party
of the Second part his heirs or assigns in fee Simple forever
in Witness Whereof the Said parties of the first part hath
hereunto Set their hands and affixed their Seals the day and
year first above written in presence of

County of Alachua } Before me a Justice of the Peace in and
for said County personally came Mattie S. Means wife of
George W. Means to me well known who upon a Separate
examination and delivery of the foregoing Indenture for the
purposes therein Contained of her own free will and accord
and without fear apprehension and compulsion of or
from her Said husband. In witness Whereof She has here-
unto set her hand and affixed her Seal this 18 day of
