State of Florida } This Indenture made on the Seventh
Marion County    } day of October in the year of our Lord
one thousand Eight hundred and and Seventy between
Marion L. Payne and his wife Sarah Jane Payne of the first part
and Hampton Peterson of the second part, Witnesseth, That for
and in Consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars to them
in hand paid at and before the Sealing and delivery of
these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
the said parties of the first part have given granted bar-
gained sold and Conveyed and by these presents do So
give grant bargain Sell and Convey to the said party of
the second part one undivided fifth interest in the
following mentioned and described real estate To Wit: That
Certain piece of land in the Village of Micanopy on
which is the residence of the late Dr George B. Payne
containing two acres of land more or less belonging
to the estate of Catharine B. Payne deceased and bound-
ed on the North by lands now in possession of Dr
Noland on the East by lands belonging to William Ed-
wards Esquire & on the South by lands of James A. Simonton
Situate in the Village of Micanopy & County of Alachua in
the State aforesaid the Same Comprising all our right
and interest in and to the real estate of Catharine B. Payne
deceased situate in the Village of Micanopy or on what is known
as the Micanopy Section of land. To Have and to Hold the Same
unto the said Hampton Peterson in fee Simple forever and to
his heirs executors or administrators and assigns together with
all and singular the houses buildings and improve-
ments and appurtenances to the Same belonging or in
any wise appertaining, The title to the Same we hereby
warrant against the claims and demands of all
persons Claiming or to Claim by through or under us

affixed our Seals and the day and the year first above

Marion County    } Know all men by these presents that
I Sarah Jane Payne wife of Marion L. Payne of my own
accord became a party to the foregoing deed and Signed the Same
freely and voluntarily and without Constraint apprehension
or fear of or from my said husband with the view of relin-
quishing all my right of Dower in and to the Certain par-
cel of Land thereby Conveyed to Hampton Peterson. In
Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
my seal on this 7th day of October AD 1870 S.J. Payne (Seal)
