State of Florida } Whereas I, Louis A. Barnes as Sheriff 
Alachua County   } of Alachua County Florida under and 
by virtue of Sundry writs of Fieri Facias issued out of the Cir-
cuit Court for Alachua County Florida in favor of James S.
Turner and others and against J.H. Roper and to me as said
Sheriff directed and delivered I did levy upon and Seize the property herein-
after described as the property of the said defendant to Satisfy 
Said Sundry Executions and did pursuant thereto duly adver-
tise the same for sale on the 7th day of February AD 1876 to
satisfy said Executions and did on the 7th day of February 
AD 1876 sell the same before the Court house door at public
auction according to law and whereas at said Sale Isabela
H. Hopwood became the purchaser of the property herein-
after described for the Sum of One dollar that being the high-
est Sum bid for the same and the said I.H. Hopwood being 
the bidder thereof.
Now therefore know ye, That I the said Louis A. Barnes as 
Sheriff as aforesaid under and by virtue of said Executions
and of the Statutes in such Case made and provided and 
for and in consideration of the said Sum of One dollar
to me as such Sheriff in hand paid have granted bargained and
sold and by these presents do grant bargain and Sell unto 
the said I.H. Hopwood and to her heirs & assigns all 
the following described property lying and being in Alachua
County Florida in Section four (4) township ten (10) Range (20)
twenty S&E particularly known and described as follows to wit
                                         200 feet Square
lot four (4) Block five (5) Range four (4) corner of Florida
Avenue & Foster Street & Known as Ropers Addition to the
town of Gainesville To Have and to Hold unto the said
I.H. Hopwood and to her heirs and assigns forever as
fully and effectually as I the Said Louis A. Barnes 
Sheriff as aforesaid & the levy advertisement and Sale thereunder 
made might Could or ought to Sell and convey the Same
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and official
seal this the First day of February AD Eighteen hundred and
