"Deed"
This Indenture made and entered into this the 29th
day of May AD 1879, between John W. Cannon and
Mattie Cannon his wife Benjamin W. Fontane and
Fannie Fontane his wife the said Mattie and
Fannie joining in this deed for the purpose of ren-
ouncing their right and title to dower in the lands
hereinafter described and Alexander D. Cannon
parties of the first part and John Parsons and L.B.
Parsons parties of the Second part, Witnesses that
the parties of the first part for and in consideration
of the Sum of Five hundred dollars to them in
hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowl-
edged, have granted bargained and sold and do
by these presents grant bargain sell and convey to
the parties of the second part their heirs and assigns
all that certain tract or parcel of land being and
Situate in the Western part of the town of Gaines-
ville in the County of Alachua in the State of Florida
the same being a part of the land formerly owned
by James B. Baileys estate and known and des-
cribbed as follows to wit: beginning at a point Sixty
feet (60) from the center of the Atlantic Gulf and
west India Transit Company Rail Road and one
chain and seven links (1.7) from the South East corner
of the house built by the said John W. Cannon
and now standing on the land herein conveyed, the
said point bearing South fifty degrees East (50) from
the said South East corner of said house and being
the South West corner of what is known as the lot
of land belonging to Lathrop & Co of Savannah Geor-
gia and called the Lathrop lot thence North eight
Chains twenty two 50/100 links (8.22 50/100) thence west thirteen
