              "Deed"
This Indenture made the twelfth day of April anno
Domini Eighteen hundred and Seventy Eight between
Smilie A. Gregg of the Town of Florence County of
Darlington and State of South Carolina administra-
tor of the Est of J. Eli Gregg deceased late of Marsbluff
Bluff Marion Co So Ca party of the first part, and
William G. Hooker of the City of New Haven County
of New Haven and State of Connecticut party of the
second part: Witnesseth: That the said party of the first
part for and in consideration of the Sum of Fifty
Dollars to him in hand paid by the said party of
the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowl-
edged hath given granted aliened bargained
sold transferred and do by these presents give
grant alien bargain sell transfer and convey unto
the said party of the second part and his heirs
and assigns forever all that certain Lot Tract
or Parcel of Land situate lying and being in the
County of Alachua and State of Florida and
known and described on the public Maps of
said State as the North West Quarter of the South
West Quarter of section Three Township Eight South
Range Twenty one East (NW1/4 of SW1/4 Sec 3 T8 S R21
E) Containing forty (40) acres more or less.
Together with all and Singular the tenements hereditaments
and appurtenances thereunto belonging and also all the
estate right title interest property claim and demand
whatsoever as well in law as in equity of the said party
of the first part of in and to the same with the appurten-
ances. To have and to hold the above described premises
with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said
party of the second part and his heirs and assigns as
his absolute property in fee Simple forever and the
said Smilie A. Gregg for himself as adm and for all
others claiming by through or under him does covenant
and agree that J. Eli Gregg was Seized in fee Simple
of a good and indefeasible estate in and to the above
premises by deed from the Trustees of the Florida
Rail Road Company June 12 AD 1867 and that he
as adm has conveyed the same free and discharged
from all encumbrances and liens of any and every
nature and description created by said J. Eli Gregg
and that the said party of the second part his
heirs and assigns shall quietly and peaceably enjoy
the above described premises against all persons
whomsoever lawfully claiming by through or under
