Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents that we Sarah R. Barnes and
Louis A. Barnes her husband of the aforesaid County and State for an in consideration
of the valuable benefits and advantages to be derived by us from the enhancement of
the value of our real estate lying in section Twenty two (22) in Township Ten (10)
South of Range Twenty (20) East in Alachua County State of Florida in consequence of
the Construction of a Rail Road over and across said section of land by the
Florida Southern Railway Company we, the said Sarah R. Barnes and Louis A.
her husband do hereby contract and agree to and with the said Southern Railway
Company in Consideration of the construction and location of their said Rail
Road over and across said section of land above described, that the chief
       where the grantors herein shall designate one hundred and Sixty (160) acres of
Engineer of said company shall locate^and select
land as and for a suitable and eligible Site for a Town in said Section No Twenty
two (22) in Township Ten (10) South of Range Twenty (20) East in Alachua
County State of Florida at some suitable point in said section above described
adjacent to and overlooking Payne's Prairie and that said Town site when
so located by the Chief Engineer of said Rail Road company shall be
surveyed and divided up and platted by said Chief Engineer of said
Company and laid out into suitable lots or blocks for building purposes with
convenient Streets avenues and lanes between said lots and blocks and that
                                       and have in actual operation
so soon as the said Rail Road Company shall complete^their said line of
Rail Road over and across the said section of land, No Twenty two (22) above
described them we the said Sarah R. Barnes and Louis A. Barnes her
husband do hereby obligate and bind ourselves and our heirs executors
and administrators that we will then donate grant and convey by
good and sufficient and legal deed of conveyance in fee simple absolute
forever unto the said Florida Southern Railway Company each and
every alternate lot or block of land within the limits of the said
 of one Hundred and Sixty (160) acres
Town Site^to be located surveyed and laid off and platted by the
said Chief Engineer of the said Railway Company as aforesaid within
the said Section Twenty two (22) in Township Ten (10) South of Range
Twenty (20) East in the said County of Alachua State of Florida, the said
alternate lots or Blocks of land thus to be conveyed to the said Florida
Southern Railway Company to contain in all Eighty (80 acres of land
in the aggregate - To all of which we do hereby Solemnly bind and
obligate ourselves our heirs executors and administrators firmly by these
presents, In Witness Whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed
our seals on this 7th day of April AD 1881
