"Deed"
State of Florida } This Indenture made this the 14th day of August AD 1880 between
Alachua County } A. Goodson and his wife Celiy Goodson of the County of Alachua
and State of Florida parties of the first part and Geo C. Swift of the same County and
State of the second part Witnesseth: That the said parties of the first part for and
in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred and forty five dollars to them in hand
paid by said party of the second part at and before the ensealing and
delivery of these present the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have
bargained sold released, granted, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents
they do bargain sell release grant convey and confirm unto the said party
of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all that certain tract or parcel
of land known and described as follows to wit: Beginning at a point on the south
East corner of Hampton Street & Pearl and running north along said Street Two
hundred feet then East fifty feet then north one hundred feet then east fifty
feet then south one hundred feet then east fifty feet to center Street then
south along said Street two hundred feet to Pearl Street then west along
said Street one hundred and fifty feet to point of beginning said lots being
numbered (as per plat of the town of Melrose and recorded in Clerks office)
Nos 35, 45, 46, 47 & 48. Togather with all and singular the tenements hereditaments
and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and all the
estate right title interest property possession claim and demand whatsoever as
well in law as in equity of the said parties of the first part in and to the
above described premises and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold
the above granted bargained and described premises with the appurtenances
unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to him
and for his own proper use benefit and behoof forever. And the
said parties of the first part for their heirs executors and administrators do
hereby covenant with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns
that at the time of the delivery of these presents the said parties of the first part
are the lawful owners of of the premises above granted and seized thereof in fee
simple absolute: that they are free from all encumbrances that the said parties
of the first part have good right to sell and convey the same to the said
party of the second part as aforesaid and that the said parties of the first part
their heirs executors and administrators the above described and hereby granted
premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said
party of the second part this heirs and assigns against the said parties
of the first part and their heirs and against all and every person and
persons whomsoever lawfully claiming the same shall and will warrant and
by these presents forever defend. In Witness Whereof the said parties of the
first part have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day
