Alachua County   } Before me personally came O.T. Turner who being duly
sworn says that he saw Mary A. Smith sign seal execute and deliver
the foregoing Deed of conveyance for the uses and purposes therein contained
and expressed and that together with M.D. Colson signed the same
as subscribed witnesses thereto

       Annie L. and D.W.L. Barton To Benjamin Rush
                               "Deed"
State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that we Annie L. Barton and
Alachua County   } D.W.L. Barton her husband of the aforesaid County and State, for and
in consideration of the sum of One Hundred Dollars to them in hand paid by Benjamin
Rush of the County of Alachua in the State of Florida the receipt whereof we do
hereby acknowledge have granted bargained, sold and conveyed and by
these presents do grant, bargain sell and convey unto him the said Benjamin
Rush all of that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situated, lying and being in
the County of Alachua, in the State of Florida particularly known and described
as follows, to wit: Being a fractional part of Section (16) Sixteen in Township
Ten (10) S of Range (19) Nineteen East - Beginning at the North West corner of the
South West 1/4 quarter of said Section (16) Sixteen running South five (5) chains
thence East (40) forty chains thence North (5) five chains, thence West (40) forty
chains to point of beginning containing by estimation Twenty (20) acres of 
land more or less. Together with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments
and appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining. To Have
and To Hold the same unto him the said Benjamin Rush and to his heirs executors
administrators and assigns in fee simple absolute forever. And We the said
Annie L. Barton and D.W.L. Barton do hereby covenant and agree to and with
the said Benjamin Rush that We are lawfully seized in fee of the property
herein and hereby conveyed; and that we have good and lawful right to
sell and convey the same; that the same is free from all encumbrances of any
kind whatsoever and that we will and our heirs executors and administrators
shall and will forever warrant and defend the same unto him the said Benjamin
Rush and to his heirs executors administrators and assigns against the
lawful claims and demands of any and all persons whomsoever now claiming
or hereafter to claim the same. In Witness Whereof We have hereunto set our hands
and affixed our seals on this Ninth (9) day of July AD 1881
