Mary E. Furman & Charles D. Furman To Lucretia S. Van Derveer
"Deed"
State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that Mary E. Furman
Alachua County } and Charles D. Furman her husband of the aforesaid County
and State, for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty
Dollars to them in hand paid by Lucretia S. Van Derveer of the County of
Alachua in the State of Florida the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge
have granted bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant
bargain sell and convey unto her the said Lucretia S. Van Derveer all of
that certain lot piece tract or parcel of land situated, lying and being in
the County of Alachua in the State of Florida particularly known and described
as follows to wit: Lot Eight (8) Section Twelve (12) Township Nine (9) Range
Twenty (20) Except so much of it as was heretofore conveyed to Susan H.
Loomas and recorded in the Clerks office in Gainesville said deed
Calling for two acres on the north end of said lot Eight (8) what we intend
deeding is Eighteen (18) acres - Containing by estimation Eighteen acres of land
more or less Together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments
and appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining. To Have and
to Hold the same unto her the said Lucretia S. Van derveer and to her heirs
executors administrators and assigns in fee simple absolute forever and we
the said Mary E. Furman and Charles D. Furman her husband do hereby
covenant and agree to and with the said Lucretia S. Van Derveer that we are
lawfully seized in fee of the property herein and hereby conveyed: and that we have
good and lawful right to sell and convey the same; that the same is free from
all incumbrances of any kind whatsoever and that we will and our heirs
executors and administrators shall and will forever warrant and defend the same
unto her the said Lucretia S. Vanderveer and to her heirs executors administrators
and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of any and all persons
whomsoever now claiming or hereafter to claim the same. In Witness Whereof we
have hereunto set our hand and affixed our seal on this nineteenth day of July
AD 1881

Before me personally appeared Mrs Mary E. Furman wife of Charles D. Furman
the Grantor in the foregoing conveyance, who being first duly questioned and
examined by me separate and apart from her said husband says and acknowledges
before me that she did sign the said deed of conveyance for the purpose of
releasing, relinquishing and renouncing all of her right in and to the land in
said deed described and that said relinquishment and renunciation was done and made
by her freely and voluntarily and without any compulsion constraint apprehension or fear
of or from her said husband.
