       Rachael Tompkins to The International Ocean Telegraph Company
                                       "Deed"
State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that I Rachael Tompkins of the
Alachua County   } County of Alachua and State of Florida for and in consideration
of the sum of Twenty five (25) Dollars to me in hand paid by the International
Ocean Telegraph Company a Corporation duly & regularly organized under the
laws of the State of New York the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have given and granted sold and conveyed & do hereby give grant sell and convey to
the International Ocean Telegraph Company the right to put up poles to erect
construct and maintain a telegraph line or lines across the following described
lands to wit SE1/4 of NW1/4 Sec 10 Township Eleven S Range 22 East lying and being
in Alachua County Florida and to keep up and maintain said line and
to keep the line clear of all obstructions trees &c for a Space of ten feet on
either side side of this said line & to go outside of said limit to remove obstructions
To have and to hold the same unto the International Ocean Telegraph
Company to its assigns and successors. In Witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal this the 24th day of August AD 1881
