County of Alachua } Whereas the act of Congress approved June 16 1880
and sections 2363 and 2362 U.S. Revised Statutes provide that whenever
a Sale of a tract of land by the United States is void for want of title thereto
in the United States or from any other cause whatsoever the money paid
on the same shall be refunded by the Secretary of the Treasury, And
Whereas it now appearing that the following described land to wit Lot
No one (1) and the South Half of Lot No two (2) of Sec 13 Township 8 South
Range Nineteen (19) East was erroneously and illegally sold to John
Wiggins as per certificate No 4747 dated at Land office Newnansville
Florida April 22d 1858 - And Whereas the said John Wiggins sold the Said
land to me Burrell Wiggins on the 30th day of January 1867 which will
appear by deed recorded in Book G on pages 174 & 175 on the 14th day of
February 1867 of the records of Alachua Co in Said State Now Know Ye
that for and in consideration of the Sum of One Hundred and Seven
67/100 dollars ($10767) to me in hand paid by the Secretary of the Treasury
I Burrell Wiggins assignee of the said John Wiggins hereby assign
transfer relinquish and Surrender to the United States all my right
title interest and claim of in and to the land herein described in
duplicate receipt No 4747 issued at Newnansville Florida bearing date
April 22d 1858 which receipt has been lost or destroyed.
