Alachua County } This Indenture made on the
twelfth day of July in the Year
of Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty one
between Harper Howland and Rosette Howland his
wife of the County and State aforesaid - parties of
the first part for and in Consideration of the Sum
of Two thousand Dollars - to them in hand paid
at and before the Signing and Sealing of these presents,
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given,
granted, bargained Sold and Conveyed unto Merritt
L. Wood party of the Second part the described
lot or parcel of land To wit: All that portion
of lot No Sixty two (62) according to a Survey Made
by W.C. Miller of the lands belonging to the land
of the Leitner Estate included within its original
boundaries less that portion lying on the Northeasterly
Side of the road between Arredondo and
Micanopy the line of Said road being Marked
by a Stone planted on or Near the North line
of Said lot and about Five Hundred and Twenty four & 5/10
feet west from its North East Corner to Another
Stone planted on its East line about Three hundred
and Seventy five feet South from Said North East
Corner Containing thirty Seven acres and three quarters
More or less To Have and To Hold the above granted
premises with all and Singular the Appurtenances
and All the Estate title and Interest of the first
part therein or to the Same in Anywise ap
pertaining or belonging unto the Said party
of the Second part his heirs and Assigns in fee
Simple forever: And the Said party of the
first part doth hereby Covenant and agree
with the party of the second part that
at the time of the delivery of these presents the
Said parties of the first part are the lawful
owners of the premises above granted that
they will and their heirs Executors and Administra
tors Shall Warrant and defend the Same in
the quiet and peaceable possession of the
said party of the Second part his heirs and
Assigns forever In Witness Whereof the Said
parties of the first part hath hereunto Set
their hands and Affixed their Seals this tenth
day of October AD 1881.
