State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that I William Edwards and
Alachua County } Mrs Julia A. Edwards of Micanopy Florida for and in
consideration of five dollars to us in hand paid and the enhancement
in value to our adjacent property by the building and construction
of the Florida Southern Railway and the establishing of a Junction on our
land hereinafter described and the laying out of a town Site at said
Junction we have this day granted bargained and Sold and by these
presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto the Florida Southern Railway
its assigns and successors the following described real property lying and being
situate in the County of Alachua to wit: the Alternate lots as laid out and
numbered and platted by W.L. Sims Said land being a part of Section (29)
Twenty nine Township (10) Ten Range twenty one of the Arredondo Grant the
object of this deed being to convey to the said Florida Southern Railway
a one half interest in said Land Comprising and embracing said
Town site the whole containing (40) Forty acres more or less. To have and
to hold the above described property unto the said Florida Southern
Railway to its successors and assigns in fee simple absolute forever
and we covenant and agree with the said parties of the second
part that we are lawfully seized of the lands hereabove conveyed and
described that the same are free and unencumbered and that we have the
lawful right to sell and convey the same and that we will and our heirs
shall and will, warrent and defend unto the parties of the second part the
title to same against the claims of any and all persons whomsoever
claiming or to claim the same in witness whereof we hereunto set our
hands and seals this the 8th day of November AD 1881

Alachua County } Before me personally appeared Mrs Julia A. Edwards to
me well known as the wife of William Edwards the grantor in the
foregoing who being by examined and questioned upon examination
separate and apart from her said husband did say and acknowledge
that she signed the foregoing deed of conveyance for the compensation therein
named and for the purpose of releasing relinquishing and renouncing all of
her dower or right of dower in and to the lands in said deed mentioned
and that the same was done freely & voluntarily without any fear
apprehension or constraint of or from her said husband
