Johnson Chestnut and Wife to William J. Salmond

State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that We Johnson Chestnut
Alachua County } and Maria Chestnut of the aforesaid county and State for and
in consideration of the sum of Fifty five ($5500) dollars to us in hand paid by
William J. Salmond of the County of Alachua in the State of Florida the
receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and
conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto him the
said William J. Salmond all of that certain lot piece tract or parcel of land
situated lying and being in the County of Alachua in the State of
Florida particularly known and described as follows to wit: Beginning at
the South West corner of the lot conveyed by C.O. Bailey Admr &c to the said
Johnson Chestnut by deed dated November 17th 1875 and recorded
January 29th 1877 in deed Book "J" pages 211 & 212 of the public records of
Alachua County Florida and running thence North Two Hundred and Ten (210)
feet Thence East Fifty five (55 feet Thence South Two Hundred and Ten (210)
feet Thence West Fifty five (55) feet to the point of beginning Containing
by estimation 1/4 of an acre of land more or less. Together with all and
singular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances to the same
belonging or in any wise appertaining To Have and Hold the same unto
him the said William J. Salmond and to his heirs executors administrators
and assigns in fee simple absolute. And we the said Johnson Chestnut
and Maria Chestnut do hereby covenant and agree with the said
William Salmond that we are lawfully seized in fee of the property
herein and hereby conveyed; and that we have good and lawful right
to sell and convey the same; that the same is free from all encumbrances
of any kind whatsoever and that we will and our heirs executors and
administrators shall and will forever warrant and defend the same unto
him the said William J. Salmond and to his heirs executors admin=
istrators and assigns against all lawful claims and demands of any
and all persons whomsoever now claiming or hereafter to claim the
same. In Witness Whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed
our Seals on this 11th day of January A.D. 1882 his

Alachua County } I hereby certify that on this 11th day of January A.D. 1882
before me personally appeared Mrs. Maria Chestnut Wife of Johnson
Chestnut the Grantor in the foregoing conveyance who being first duly
questioned and examined by me Separate and apart from her said
husband says and acknowledges before me that she did sign the
said deed of conveyance for the purpose of releasing relinquishing and
renouncing all of her right of Dower in and to the land in said deed
described and that said relinquishment and renunciation of Dower
was done and made by her freely and voluntarily and without any
compulsion constraint apprehension or fear of or from her said husband |
