Christina P. Richards to John N. Voorhees
"Deed"
State of Florida } Know all men by these Presents that I Christina
Alachua County } P. Richards widow of the aforesaid county and
State for and in consideration of the sum of Fifteen hundred ($1500.00)
dollars to her in hand paid by John N. Voorhees of the County
of A____ in the State of New York the receipt whereof I do
hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and conveyed
and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto him
the said John N. Voorhees all of that certain lot piece tract or
parcel of land situated lying and being in the County of Alachua
in the State of Florida particularly known and described as follows to wit:
an undivided one half interest in that piece or parcel of land lying
and being in Section Twenty Two (22) in Township Ten (10) South
of range (19) nineteen and more particularly described as follows to wit
commencing at the South West corner of said Sec 22 Township 10 range 19
and running thence North twenty nine chains and ten links to
a stake the point of beginning thence North along the section line
forty (40) chains to a stake and the margin of Hog Town Prairie; thence
Easterly and Southerly along the margin of said Prairie nine 85/100 chains
to a stake at the North West corner of a lot owned by J. F. McKinstry
thence South along the line of said Dr. J. F. McKinstry's lot thirty four
chains to a stake thence South Westerly Eleven chains to the point of
beginning Further described as Lot No (1) one of survey of "Patterson
Place" recorded in Deed Book "J" of records of Alachua County Florida
January 1876 containing by estimation 34 22/100 acres of land more or less
Together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments and
appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining. To
Have and to hold the same unto him the said John N. Voorhees
and to his heirs executors administrators and assigns in fee simple
absolute and I the said Christina P. Richards do hereby covenant
and agree to and with the said John N. Voorhees that I am lawfully
seized in fee of the property herein and hereby conveyed and that we
have good and lawful right to sell and convey the same that the
same is free from all encumbrances of any kind whatsoever and that I
will and my heirs executors and administrators shall and will
forever warrant and defend the same unto him the said John N.
Voorhees and to his heirs executors administrators and assigns
against the lawful claims and demands of any and all persons
whomsoever now claiming or hereafter to claim the same.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
my seal on this 24th day of January AD 1883
